Write protection allows a drive or SD card to keep its contents from being changed.
This effectively prevents you from using the drive in any sort of meaningful way.
 In order to start using the drive, you’ll need to remove that write protection. Follow this guide to learn how.

Method 1 of 2: Disabling Write Protection on an SD Card

Using the Lock Switch

1. Remove the card from your card reader. If the card is in an adapter, remove it from the adapter as well.

2. Slide the locking switch to the "Unlock" position. If it isn't labeled, this is the position closest to the front of the card.Check the adapter as well to see if it has a lock mechanism.

3. Tape up a missing lock switch. If the lock switch has broken off, you can use a small piece of cellophane tape to make the card writable. Cover the indentation where the lock switch is normally located with a small square of tape.
Be sure that you don't cover any of the card's contacts with the tape.
Make sure that there are not creases. If the tape is not flat, the card may get stuck.

Formatting the Card

1. Open Computer/My Computer/This PC. You can find this in the start menu or press ⊞ Win+E.
If you are using OS X, open the Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.

2. Right-click on the SD card in the list of drives.
If you are using OS X, select your SD card from the left frame.

3. Select "Format" from the menu.
If you are using OS X, select the "Erase" tab.

4 . Start the format. Click the Start button to format the card. All of the data will be erased, but the card will be writeable.
If you are using OS X, click Erase.

Method 2 of 2: Disabling Write Protection on a USB Drive

Temporarily Changing Permissions by Adjusting the Registry

1. Open the Registry Editor. You can access the Registry Editor by entering regedit into the Search field in your Start menu. Windows 8 users can type regedit when viewing the Start screen.



2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. This folder can be found in the Computer section of the registry editor, in the left frame. Click the arrow next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to expand the folder.
Expand the SYSTEM folder.
Expand the CurrentControlSet folder.
Expand the Control folder.
Scroll down until you find the StorageDevicePolicies folder.

3. Create the StorageDevicePolicies folder if it doesn’t exist. If you cannot find the StorageDevicePolicies folder, then you will need to create one first. Right-click in the blank space in the Control folder. Select New, and then Key. Label it StorageDevicePolicies.

4. Change or create the "WriteProtect" entry. Double click on the "WriteProtect" key in the StorageDevicePolicies folder. Change the “Value data” field from 1 to 0. Press OK.
If you created the StorageDevicePolicies folder, open it and then right-click in a blank space. Select New, and then DWORD. Name the new file WriteProtect and put 0 in the value field. Press OK.
You must type each entry exactly, including capitalization, otherwise the key will not work.



5. Reboot your computer. In order for the registry changes to take effect, you will need to reboot your computer. Save all of your work before rebooting.

Formatting the Drive

1. Open Computer/My Computer/This PC. You can find this in the start menu or press ⊞ Win+E. Formatting the drive will erase all of the data, so make backups of anything you need first.
If you are using OS X, open the Disk Utility from the Utilities folder..

2. Right-click on the USB drive in the list of drives.
If you are using OS X, select your SD card from the left frame.


3. Select "Format" from the menu.
If you are using OS X, select the "Erase" tab.

4. Start the format. Click the Start button to format the drive. All of the data will be erased, but the USB drive will be writeable.
If you are using OS X, click Erase.

Formatting with the Command Prompt (Windows)

1. Open the command prompt as an administrator. Click the Start menu and enter CMD into the Search field. Right-click on it in the search results and select Run as Administrator.
In Windows 8, press the Windows key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin).



2. Open the disk partition utility. Type diskpart and press Enter.


3. Select your USB drive. Type list disk and press Enter. Once the list has been displayed, type select disk X, replacing X with the number corresponding to your USB drive.


4. Turn off the write protection. Once you have the USB drive selected, type attributes disk clear read only. This will remove the write protection from the disk.


5. Format the USB drive. Before you can use it, you will need to format the drive. Type clean and press Enter. Then type create partition primary and press Enter. Finally, type format fs=fat32 and press Enter.
You can change fat32 to ntfs if you only plan on using the drive in a Windows PC.


6. Exit the command prompt. Try to place files on the USB drive. If you are still unable to write to it, then the drive is most likely damaged and needs to be replaced.

Windows 10 will run across an incredibly broad set of devices – from the Internet of Things, to servers in enterprise datacenters worldwide. Some of these devices have 4 inch screens – some have 80 inch screens – and some don’t have screens at all. Some of these devices you hold in your hand, others are ten feet away. Some of these devices you primarily use touch/pen, others mouse/keyboard, others controller/gesture – and some devices can switch between input types.

Microsoft  wants to put some distance between their new OS release and Windows 8. In fact they want to put so much distance in between that they decided to skip a whole version number. There’s not going to be a Windows 9: Microsoft is going straight to 10.
What’s the logic behind going with Windows 10?It’s not as though this is the 10th major Windows build. It’s not even the 10th NT build. Obviously it’s because of the old good version/bad version rhythm. Windows 8 was bad, Windows 8.1 was better. Windows 9, clearly, would’ve been utter garbage, so they went straight to 10 — kind of like how they used to skip the 13th floor when they built skyscrapers.
No, not really. But Microsoft is trying to signal a move in a new direction. That direction is away from products that people fund unintuitive and sometimes infuriating to use (like a touch-first interface on a non-touch computer) towards things that are familiar, make sense on the type of computer you’re using (like an OS that intelligently adapts its interface to your computer’s current configuration), and just work.
When asked about the decision to call it Windows 10, Joe Belfiore replied that “This product, when you see [it in its], fullness I think you’ll agree with us that it’s a more appropriate name.” That fullness applies to Windows Phone, too, which will see Windows 10 as its next major upgrade. Windows 10 is built for “screens from 4 to 80 inches,” according to Belfiore.

Tracking Your Android Device Location

Hello friends, today i am going to tell you how to track your android device location. Android devices are playing an important role in our  life. If our device will be lost then this means we lose our important contacts, photos, videos and other good memories.
I here are some solutions to track it back:

1. We can track our device using IMEI Number
Every android phone carries a unique IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity Number). It is printed at the back of your device or you can find it by dialing *#06#. This will give you the IMEI number of your phone. Store this number in a safe place so that it helps you in locating your phone when it is lost. When you file a complaint, this number has to be added in the report. Your service provider uses this number to track your phone and tell you where it is. No matter if the person using the phone is using a different SIM card or has switched off the phone. Once the device is traced, you can request your service provider to block it from using.

2. Activate missing device option in your device’s Antivirus
If you don’t have installed any antivirus on your device, you can download it from Playstore. It will also protect your phone from external threats. Once you activate missing device option, it will easily find your device.
Just you have to sign-in into locate your device service of your antivirus. It will show your device’s location on map. If you are at a short distance from your device, you can choose Scream option to make a loud noise to find it.

3. Android device manager
It also helps you to locate your lost device location. Here’s how to use Android Device Manager.
Go to the Google Settings app and then select Android device manager. By default the locator feature is activated but to activate remove data wipe, select the box next to “Allow remote factory reset”, then select “activate”.
To use this feature, open Android Device manager and sign in to your Google account. You may be prompted for permission to allow Android Device Manager to use location data. Select the Accept tab to continue. Now you will be provided with a map that shows the location of your device along with other details such as the name of the place, when it was last used and more. The location data doesn’t help you if your phone is misplaced somewhere in your home. Instead of making a call to your phone using other’s phone, you can call your phone directly from Android Device Manager. This will make your device to ring with high volume for 5 minutes, even if it’s in silent or vibrate mode. One feature that is missing in Android Device Manager is remote locking, which can be useful in preventing a stranger from accessing your data, while you’re tracking its location.

Head over to the download section to get the latest app and server version. After downloading the server installer, run the executable as administrator and install the server. If you are using Windows XP, you might need to install the Microsoft .Net Framework first.
	Get your IP address To connect with your pc, the app needs to know your local IP address. Once you open the Remote Control Server for the first time, it will show a dialog box containing your IP address. You can always find your IP address in the overview tab of the Remote Control Server. Look for "Server" and "IP address".
	Start the app Now it's time to setup the Remote Control app. Open it and navigate to the main menu. Now tap on "Server", this is where you will add your pc. There are few things that you need to keep in mind every time you want to connect to your pc: The Remote Control Server needs to be running in order to receive the commands from the app. Your smartphone and your pc need to be in the same network (e.g connected to the same Wi-Fi), otherwise the devices can't communicate with each other.
	Add a server Now you need to tell the Remote Control app which server it should connect to. You have two possibilities: Use "Scan" to automatically detect the server. This may not be successfull in every network. If it doesn't find your server, try the second method. Enter the IP address from step 2 and a name for the server. The name can be anything but the IP address needs to be exactly as shown in the server (including dots).
	That's it! Save the server and you are ready to connect! Go back to the main menu and tap on "Connect". The app will now try to reach on of the servers that you previously saved. Select a remote and you can enjoy what the Remote Control app has to offer!
Can't connect If the connection is not successfull, you will see an error message saying that the server is unreachable. Double check if the IP address you entered is correct and make sure that both devices are in the same network.

4. Browse back to the CD-ROM, and press "Ctrl-V" to paste. The files/folders will show up as temporary files/folders at this time.

5. On the left panel, select "Write these files to CD".

6. The window "CD Writing Wizard" appears with the default CD name. Change the CD name if you wish, then click "Next".
